Welcome to the on-line home of Guardian Lutheran's vibrant Music Ministry!  This blog will serve as the main contact point for all information and scheduling for all ensembles in our ministry - Adult Choir, Jubellation, School Chorus, Children's Choir, Guardian Brass, and all other groups.

This blog will also contain important announcements concerning changes in schedule, rehearsal time, or repertoire.  It will also include postings regarding musical opportunities outside of Guardian, and the occasional random musing from your humble Director of Music!

Parents:  The confirmation form for your child's attendance for School Chorus will be located on his/her class "Homework and Announcements" page.  Please respond to these events promptly, as your child could be marked absent if the form is not completed before the performance date.

All:  Please e-mail me at john.boonenberg@guardianlutheran.org if you have suggestions or something you would like posted here.  I hope that this small corner of the woods can become a useful and efficient way for us to remain in contact and expand our ministry!

As we begin this blog, and a new musical year, I am reminded of verses taken for the installation of a new music director - Colossians 3:12-17.  I think it is the perfect meditation for all of us as we begin to minister through our music, and proclaim the greatness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I pray that we keep these words in mind through the coming year, and give the glory to God alone!

12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
