SCRIP

Guardian Lutheran School participates in a SCRIP fundraising program. SCRIP is a term that means "Substitute Money" (gift cards and certificates). You can use SCRIP to purchase everyday things like groceries, gas, clothing and more.   Purchasing gift cards from our Scrip provider will earn a profit between 2 and 18%.  Profits earned through the Scrip program are used for classroom needs, educational trips for the school children, tithe to the church, tuition assistance and school registration fee reduction for families who participate and earn the minimum amount required.

Orders are placed on Mondays at noon during the school year (limited orders during the summer months)  and can be picked up in the school office on Friday of the same week or you can arrange to have your order delivered to your responsible child (Guardian is not responsible for lost orders once the child signs for the order).  A few cards are available for purchase on a first come - first serve basis from the school office.

To place a Scrip order online go to www.shopwithscrip.com.  Sign in to place your order.  If you are new to ordering Scrip online you will need to email Ronda to obain our enrollment code (we cannot publish the code online).  This site will also provide you with a complete list of the hundreds of participating retailers.  Great Lakes Scrip also has a program called "Presto Pay" which allows you to pay for your orders online for a minimal fee.   Please read the requirements before signing up for this program.  Payment for orders is expected when the order is placed (note: $25 fee will be charged for returned checks)

For additional information about Guardian's SCRIP program, please refer to the SCRIP Instructions or to place an order, download a SCRIP Order Form.

Scrip earning period for School families is March 1, 2011 through February 28, 2012.

 TERRACYCLE

TerraCycle Brigades are national programs where you can earn cash for your trash (all money is paid to schools and non-profits). Thanks to participation by schools like Guardian, Terracycle has collected more than 50 million drink pouches and paid $1 million to charities and non-profits. Together, the drink pouches would fill 480 football fields if laid side by side and would weigh the equivalent of 20 school buses.

This past year, Guardian Lutheran earned over $140 collecting CapriSun, Kool Aid Jammers and Honest Kids drink pouches, Fritos, Doritos and Lays potato chip bags and M&M/Mars candy wrappers.  Collection containers are located outside the school office and in the lunchroom/fellowship hall. Please empty and remove straws from all juice pouches or cut the top off the juice pouch and rinse prior to placing them in the collection containers.

For more information on the types of products made by Terracycle (including pencil pouches, backpacks and more), please visit their website at www.terracycle.net.

If you have any questions about Guardian's Terracycle program, please contact Heidi Bristol at heidibristol@att.net.
